A two-part course meets Thursdays, July 10 & 24 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM MTD
Our lives are profoundly shaped by the texts considered sacred in our religions or cultures. These texts serve as the bedrock for our histories and personal narratives, giving rise to myths, symbols, and rituals that imbue our lives with meaning, often influencing us whether we are aware of it or not. Over millennia, these texts have ranged from Biblical and canonical writings to theological treatises and liturgical compositions, as well as personal writings by poets, mystics, artists, philosophers, and spiritual leaders. In this course, we will explore both traditional sacred texts and those we create or envision ourselves, even those we haven’t yet put to paper or canvas.
