The body is not a container for the sacred — it is the sacred. Wisdom of the Mothers: Sacred Arts, Embodied Knowing gathers to remember, practice, and transmit the living arts that have always moved through us: in dance and song, ritual and prayer, in the making of beauty, in breath and touch, and the ancient gestures of care.

Since the first fire, our foremothers have danced their prayers, sung their grief, shaped clay into the faces of the holy, and told stories that held the world together. Wisdom of the Mothers: Sacred Arts, Embodied Knowing is a gathering for all seekers. It is an invitation to return to these elemental practices: movement and chant, myth and symbol, ritual gesture and sacred making — and to remember that the Earth was our first temple, and the body is the temple we carry with us still.

We will explore such questions as:

What were the sacred arts of our ancestors, and how do they live in us still?
How do ritual, myth, and symbol shape the way we move through the world?
What does it mean to bring embodied wisdom — intuition, gesture, breath — into conscious practice?
Who carried these arts across generations, and who carries them now?
How do we live our values through making, moving, and creating beauty?

About the Symposium

Our Mission

Our mission is to create a living conversation between past and present, lifting up women’s contributions and lived expressions as medicine for disconnection and displacement, and birthing new forms that will guide us—and generations to come—toward wholeness.

Wisdom of the Mothers welcomes presenters and participants of all genders.

A Growing Movement

Wisdom of the Mothers has evolved over three iterations:

(2025) Year One: The Beginning
Our inaugural symposium, "Celebrating Matriarchal and Matrilineal Wisdom Traditions," gathered 153 deeply engaged participants for learning, ceremony, and connection. Their response was overwhelmingly positive, and they asked us for more: expanded programming and a wider circle.
Year Two (2026): A Widening Circle
We answered that call. Nearly 200 participants joined us from around the world, learning from presenters in the United States, the United Kingdom, Finland, the Netherlands, and Greece. Four founding sponsors stood with us, helping a single gathering become a living, international community of practice.
Year Three (2027): Sacred Arts, Embodied Knowing
On May 16–17, 2027, Wisdom of the Mothers: Sacred Arts, Embodied Knowing will welcome more than 300 participants. Each day will open with a keynote, setting the intention for what unfolds. And this year we extend an explicit invitation to people of all genders, because the wisdom of the mothers was never meant to be held by some alone. It is an inheritance that can nourish anyone willing to receive it.
This is a movement, and it is growing. Sponsors who join us now help carry it into its next season, standing alongside a community that has doubled its reach in just two years while keeping the intimacy and depth that make it transformational.
