“Finding beauty in a broken world becomes more than the art of assemblage. It is the work of daring contemplation that inspires action." --Terry Tempest Williams
There is deep pain in brokenness and a deep beauty, the beauty of all the stories of what was, of the shared experience of both shattering and those pieces that refuse to be wiped out, the beauty of the way all of our experiences call on us to continually create and re-create a new wholeness, to rediscover the wholeness that is always present.
We are living in a world where there seems to be brokenness all around us - war, divisiveness, fear, natural disasters, and so many in so much pain. It is easy to feel overwhelmed and despairing.
What if we could heed Terry Tempest Williams words, “finding beauty in a broken world” and a “work of daring contemplation that inspires action”?
This 3 hr. workshop is an invitation to gather together, and, through Intentional Creativity painting and embodied movement, give voice to the pain and brokenness we are witnessing and its impact on our hearts, to consciously create, through our art, a weaving and compassionate and embodied re-membering of wholeness, and open to some small ways that each of us, in our own way, can enter the daring contemplation that inspires action.
We will be creating a painting, a heart-inspired embodied journey of revealing the wholeness beneath the brokenness, and creating a work of art that connects us to our commitment to be a source and force of wholeness.
