Your Stories Look Me in the Eyes: A Dialog in Poetry

Join us for an insight into the process of personal and literary dialogue in the shadow of annihilation, as poets Basman Derawi (Gaza/Cairo) and Michal Rubin (Israel/USA) share their ongoing poetic conversation which began in 2024. Basman and Michal face each other, their stories look at each other in the eyes, as they navigate the difficulties of a shared history of intergenerational trauma, the 1948 Nakba, the occupation, apartheid, the October 7th Hamas atrocities, and the genocide in Gaza.

The poetry reading will be followed by a Q&A moderated by Rabbi Nadya Gross
